Overview

This guide covers setup standards for SUNMI D2s KDS kitchen displays in Chively. Some teams refer to this model as DS2 KDS.

Before you begin

  • Confirm the device model is SUNMI D2s KDS.
  • Verify kitchen mounting location, splash exposure, and cable routing path.
  • Confirm FOH-to-BOH order routing is already configured in Chively.

Steps

  1. Mount or position the KDS where kitchen staff can read and interact without blocking prep space.
  2. Connect network and power, then verify stable uptime before shift start.
  3. Launch Chively KDS workflow and confirm incoming tickets from a front-of-house test order.
  4. Validate ticket actions (start, bump, complete) and real-time sync back to FOH.
  5. Test touch interaction with gloved-hand scenarios used by your kitchen team.
  6. Confirm brightness and contrast settings for hot-line visibility conditions.
  7. Document the recovery process for temporary network interruptions.

Recommended use cases

  • Kitchen production stations
  • Expo coordination screens
  • Bar prep ticket management

Notes for support teams

  • D2s KDS is designed for BOH visibility and fast touch updates.
  • Use dedicated network segmentation where possible for predictable ticket sync.
  • Keep a documented fallback workflow for paper tickets if hardware is down.
