Overview

Use this guide when thermal receipts print too light, streaky, or completely blank.

Applies to models sold by Chively

  • Sunmi 80mm Receipt Printer
  • POS Bank A11 Printer (Black/White)
  • Integrated 80mm printers on Sunmi T3 Pro Max, Sunmi P3 Mix, Sunmi P3 Air, and Sunmi P3H

Before you begin

  • Confirm the printer uses thermal paper, not plain paper.
  • Verify paper roll orientation matches the printer label.
  • Allow the printhead to cool before cleaning.

Steps

  1. Remove the roll and reinstall it in the correct thermal orientation.
  2. Print a test receipt to check whether text appears.
  3. Clean the printhead with approved cleaning material and let it dry fully.
  4. Inspect the platen roller for wear, flat spots, or residue buildup.
  5. Replace the paper roll with a fresh roll from another package.
  6. Check print density settings on the device if available and increase one level.
  7. Test again with a long receipt to check for recurring fade zones.
  8. If output remains blank or streaked, replace the printhead or service the printer.

Verification

  • Text and QR/barcodes are dark and readable.
  • No horizontal white streaks run through printed content.
